Dectin Vet Pour-On

Moxidectin

Strength

N/A

Dosage Form

Pour-on / spot-on

Indication

• For the treatment and control of ectoparasites in livestock (e.g., lice, ticks, mites, fleas).

Mode of Action

• Moxidectin is a second-generation antiparasitic drug, whereas ivermectin belongs to the first generation. • Due to the absence of a "disaccharide sugar chain" in its chemical structure, moxidectin has higher lipophilicity (lipid solubility). It easily dissolves in fat, allowing it to rapidly penetrate skin and fatty tissues to exert its efficacy. Conversely, ivermectin and eprinomectin possess a "disaccharide sugar chain," resulting in lower comparative lipophilicity. • Moxidectin works within cells and tissues over a long duration.
