Cattle: Inflammation, pain, fever, lameness, dehorning & castration. It is also used as supportive therapy in acute respiratory infection, diarrhea, acute mastitis etc. Dog: Osteoarthritis. Pig: Inflammation & locomotor disorders.
Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam family. It acts by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, analgesic and antipyretic properties. Meloxicam has anti-endotoxic properties too.

Animals less than six weeks old. Animals hypersensitive to meloxicam. Contraindicated in animals with impaired renal, hepatic or cardiac function. Warning & precaution Do not administer concurrently with steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (SAID) & other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID).
Mel-Vet 2% Injection is a veterinary injection containing Meloxicam (20 mg/mL) from ACME.
For treatment, the recommended dose of Mel-Vet 2% Injection in dog is 0.01 mL/kg, given IM, IV, SC, once daily for 1 day. 0.2 ml/20 kg body weight (0.2 mg/kg) SC as a single dose.
For treatment, the recommended dose of Mel-Vet 2% Injection in cattle is 0.025 mL/kg, given IM, IV, SC, once daily for 1 day. 1 ml/40 kg body weight (0.5 mg/kg) SC/IV/IM as a single dose.
For treatment, the recommended dose of Mel-Vet 2% Injection in pig is 0.025 mL/kg, given IM, IV, SC, once daily for 1 day. 1 ml/40 kg body weight (0.5 mg/kg) SC as a single dose followed by 0.1 mg/kg orally daily for 2 weeks.

In cattle, the withdrawal period for Mel-Vet 2% Injection is meat 15 days and milk 5 days. Cattle: Meat- Meat should not be consumed up to 15 days after using this drug. Milk- Milk should not be consumed up to 05 day after using this drug.
In pig, the withdrawal period for Mel-Vet 2% Injection is meat 5 days. Meat- Meat should not be consumed up to 5 days after using this drug.
