Indication

 Sumid-Vet® Powder is used to treat sulphanilamide -sensitive organisms, notably streptococcal septicaemia; equine pneumonia, strangles, joint-ill, metritis in mares, cows and ewes.  Sumid-Vet® Powder is also used as a dusting powder for wounds by topical application

Animals up to 3 months of age: Initial dose: 7.5 gm per 50 kg body weight. Continuation: 2.5 gm per 50 kg body weight every eight hours interval Older animals: Initial dose: 10 gm per 50 kg body weight. Continuation: 5 gm per 50 kg body weight every twelve hours interval. For external use: Use externally as per requirement or prescribed by a registered veterinary doctor.

Contraindications

In therapeutic doses Sumid-Vet® Powder is relatively non-toxic, but prolonged treatment has been known to cause agranulocytosis, haemolytic anaemia and avitaminosis-K. Where prolonged treatment is undertaken, patients should be watched with care. Sumid-Vet® Powder occasionally causes crystalluria, particularly when urinary pH is low. Always ensure adequate water intake during treatment and take particular care in the case of animals suffering from renal damage.
