Trichlorfon / Metrifonate

Indication

Ectoparasites including mites, lice and ticks; some fish parasites. An organophosphate.

Contraindications

Do not use with levamisole or other cholinesterase inhibitors. Not for debilitated, stressed or very young animals.

Side Effects

Cholinergic toxicity — salivation, tremor, diarrhoea, bradycardia. Atropine is the antidote.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Avoid in pregnancy.
