Cattle are roughly ten times more sensitive than horses — use the species dose. Avoid in late pregnancy in cattle, where it stimulates the uterus. Cardiac disease; respiratory compromise.
Bradycardia, hypotension, respiratory depression, bloat in ruminants, vomiting in dogs and cats. Effects are reversible with an alpha-2 antagonist.
Avoid in the last trimester in cattle — may induce premature parturition.
