Drops (eye/ear/nasal)
Acute and chronic keratitis and conjunctivitis of infectious, non-viral, allergic origin, chronic anterior uveitis, scleritis, episcleritis, myositis, and corneal injury from chemical radiation or thermal burns or penetration of foreign bodies, post-operative management of cataract, glaucoma, and strabismus. Safe Eye is indicated where the risk of superficial ocular infection is high.
Dexamethasone reduces prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting the phospholipase A-2 enzyme. Furthermore, dexamethasone inhibits neutrophil chemotactic infiltration at the site of inflammation. Ciprofloxacin has a broad spectrum of activity against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria; against gram-positive organisms, the most highly active antibacterial quinolone ciprofloxacin interferes with the DNA gyrase enzyme which inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis.
