Mild antiseptic for wounds; ear cleaning and drying in otitis externa.
Do not apply to large open wounds or broken skin — boric acid is absorbed and cumulative.
Absorption from damaged skin causes vomiting, diarrhoea and renal damage. Toxic if ingested.
Avoid extensive application.
