Milk fever and hypocalcaemia, including parturient paresis in cattle and small ruminants.
Hypercalcaemia; concurrent digitalis therapy.
Given too fast intravenously it causes bradycardia, arrhythmia and sudden death. Warm to body temperature and give slowly with cardiac auscultation.
Used at and around parturition; safe when given correctly.
