Phenazone

While largely replaced by newer NSAIDs (like Meloxicam or Carprofen) in human medicine, Phenazone remains incredibly important in veterinary medicine. As mentioned previously, it is almost always paired with Diminazene Aceturate in formulations used to treat tick-borne protozoal diseases (like Babesiosis/Tick Fever). Why it's paired: Tick fever causes severe, sudden spikes in body temperature and muscle aches. While the Diminazene targets and kills the blood parasite, Phenazone acts as the immediate relief agent—rapidly cooling down the animal's fever, easing pain, and minimizing shock while the anti-protozoal medication takes effect.
