Selenium

Indication

White muscle disease and selenium deficiency; nutritional myopathy in calves, lambs and poultry.

Contraindications

Do not repeat within the stated interval or combine with other selenium sources.

Side Effects

The therapeutic and toxic doses are close. Selenium toxicity causes blindness, respiratory distress and sudden death — calculate the dose carefully.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Used in late pregnancy to prevent deficiency in newborns; stay within recommended doses.
