Indication

Used for treatment and control of infections caused by susceptible organisms, especially: Coccidiosis (Eimeria spp.) in poultry and cattle Fowl cholera caused by Pasteurella multocida Fowl typhoid caused by Salmonella gallinarum Target species commonly include: Chickens Turkeys Cattle and calves

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides Animals with severe liver or kidney impairment Laying hens producing eggs for human consumption Lactating dairy cattle Calves intended for veal production

Side Effects

Reduced feed or water intake Kidney crystal formation (crystalluria) Growth depression in poultry Interference with normal blood clotting Gastrointestinal disturbances or toxicity at high doses

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy: Use only if benefits outweigh risks; safety data are limited in pregnant animals. Lactation: Not recommended in lactating dairy cattle because drug residues may pass into milk.
