Ivermectin

In dogs and cats, ivermectin is FDA-approved only for use as a preventative for heartworm. It has also been used as a microfilaricide, slow-kill adulticide, ectoparasiticide, and endoparasiticide.

Collies and related herding breeds with MDR1 mutation are highly sensitive and can die at normal doses. Not for use in animals under the stated age or weight.

Ataxia, tremor, mydriasis, coma in sensitive individuals or on overdose. Injection-site swelling.

Ivermectin is considered safe to use during pregnancy. Ivermectin is 10 times safe in dogs.
