In dogs and cats, ivermectin is FDA-approved only for use as a preventative for heartworm. It has also been used as a microfilaricide, slow-kill adulticide, ectoparasiticide, and endoparasiticide.
Ivermectin is considered safe to use during pregnancy. Ivermectin is 10 times safe in dogs.
